Glenmanus Go Team Report 2006

On the 22nd July, nine young people met at the manse in Portrush for the start of the Glenmanus Go Team 2006. The members were Charlotte Hyndman (Newtownards), Amanda Moffett (Creevagh), Stephen McCollum (Cullybackey), Stephen Steele (Faughan) and Claire Wilson (Trinity), and four members from Glenmanus whose assistance was invaluable throughout the week; Emmaline and Erin McCollum, Amy and Catherine Morrison. The main activities for the week were assisting with the congregation's Holiday Bible Club at which around 45 children attended, literature distribution in which 3,000 copies were given out, door to door, three open air psalm sings along Portrush's West Strand. This was my first Go Team experience, but I recommend it to all of you, since it was a great spiritual blessing, both through our  team bible studies in Joshua- which encouraged us to be strong and courageous, and through the Christian fellowship we experienced. The bible studies really encouraged me, as being in a group of only ten psalm singers above the beach on a day with so many people on the beach was a particularly nervous experience- especially as we were acting as Christ's ambassadors. I would like to thank the Glenmanus Congregation for their hospitality, provision of food and general enthusiasm and helpfulness through the course of the week. Please pray for the Glenmanus congregation that they might see fruit for their labour in the summer, and that God would continue to help them in their congregational life and witness. Pray for all of those people who encountered God's Word that week, whether spoken, read or sung. Even now the all powerful God can use it! Also pray for a family, living near the manse, who Samuel and Helen McCollum have had contact with. Pray that God would use this personal witness. Lastly I would encourage you to go on Glenmanus Go Team because the town of Portrush needs this valuable witness!
